Does anyone have thoughts on high quality and stable stands for our nice weighty Alembic basses?
Thanks in advance

Fender has an adjustable stand. I have one for my Epic. No accidents so far.

These are several fairly extensive previous threads about stands. “Search” is your friend.

I wouldn't use anything from GC. Not for one of these basses, anyway. A couple of mine have rack rash from those, so don't do something cheap you'll regret later.

I always keep my special basses like the Alembic in the Case in the back of the stage when not playing. I take it out to play, then on break it goes back in the hard-shell case. I'll show it off when I'm playing. I mentioned this in the "snapped head stock" post where some people seemed mad because I struck a nerve, but that's good that you are being vigilant about protecting your investments. "Treat it like a baby!"

The safest place for a bass is in its case.
I have a variety of stands. Any stand can be dangerous to an inadvertent oops. Take your bass to a music store, set it in a stand and test to see how much effort is required to make it become unbalanced.
Some stages are like trampolines and just walking could cause the bass and stand to topple. One of the most stable stands I have is a small ‘collapsable’ A-shaped stand. It holds the butt of my bass and supports the body at a nice backyard angle… nothing is touching the neck.
Here’s a picture of a bunch of stands that were trusted with many an Alembic.

I'm using these at home; they have to be extended all the way for my MSB basses. I don't use stands on the job, and place them in the case by my amp. https://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/fender-deluxe-hanging-guitar-stand-2-pack/l55399000000000?cntry=US&cur=USD&utm_content=L55399000000000--Fender+Deluxe+Hanging+Guitar+Stand+2-Pack&source=3WWRWXGS&gclid=Cj0KCQjw852XBhC6ARIsAJsFPN17zyNllFKEF_zKmh8N5WOfZ_xAYQh8OwzcwRCe4yE4QySwy9LkaRUaApu3EALw_wcB

I may be wrong (and please correct me if I am), but I don't think Alembic's finishes react with cheap stands; that's just nitrocellulose.
As to stability, I worked full-time for 7 bands over 8 years; guitars & basses (and the guitarists frequently carried more than one) were always on stage in the classic double-bow stands (which we called "skull inducers"; I'd explain that, but this is a family place.....). In all that time, through all those shows, with all those axes, there was a grand total of one (1) mishap - that was when a bartender decided, after set-up & while I was in the next room, that he needed to get to a storeroom behind the stage, resulting in a small ding in a matching-headstock, bound-'board, Daphne Blue early '60s Strat (and yes, I did hear about it, at great length & with great vitriol......). And if those stands had come with the strap across the neck bow like they do now, even
that one wouldn't have happened.
I have seen far more damage done by headstocks banging together while being played.

The one of Chopin's left hand at least we know it was made on his deathbed. Macabre? Or just the 19th century's way of dealing with mortality (they died a lot, as it were).
Brronze cast of Chopin's hand made 'seconds after he died' goes on sale for £18,000 (https://www.thefirstnews.com/article/bronze-cast-of-chopins-hand-made-seconds-after-he-died-goes-on-sale-for-18000-31499)

I may get the markbass "Bass Keeper" It looks stable. A very good idea.

Hercules all the way. I use one of the double stands, and just got one of the foldable floor stands for 3 basses. They work perfectly, and have never let me down in 6 years of use.

+1 on the hurcules

+2 on Hercules. I’ve only used the single ones, but they are great.
