Title: Volume, gain, pickup height.
Post by: Manfred de Rooy (mdrdvp) on January 26, 2003, 02:38:16 PM
Hi all,

Can somebody help me with this?
Why does a series I or II have two volume or gain controls.

Two adjustable gain pots on the back and the ability to adjust the gain or volume by changing the pickup height? I mean, what's the difference between these options.

What is the best way to start the adjustment if you want to change anything. Pickups or trimpots?
My bass sounds great, but I was just wondering what to do in case of a bad hairday.

Thanks,
Manfred

You're in luck, Manfred. Joey posted an excellent discussion on this topic just yesterday, which you can find here:

There is also some related material in this same section, under the thread on Ideal pick-up height?.

If you still have questions after that, let us know (though I'm afraid I can't help you much with hair problems...).

Thanks Bob,

I overlooked that discussion. This is very helpful. No questions anymore.

Thanks,
Manfred
