Title: humble request on Essence 6-string purchase

Thanks in advance for your generosity. I have been an aspiring Alembic owner since the 1980s and a player who wants to explore 6-string.  Now in my geezerly years, I have the chance (and ability) to purchase a '93 Essence in great condition with case for $3500. I have been going in circles and trying to find comparable instruments is difficult.  I would be very grateful for constructive thoughts on the price and also any experiences with Essence 6-string.

The Essences are great instruments. I'm seeing fours go for $2k all the time. $3500 seems about $800 too high for a six.

Thanks OJ. This is similar t o what I was thinking and behind my hesitation. I appreciate it. They come up for sale pretty rarely it seems.

Scott. I would agree that $3500 is a bit steep for an Essence even if it is a sixer. I have a 6-string Europa in Maple for sale for about that price. PM me if you are still looking.

Thanks for connecting. I ended up working out a deal that I could live with and have been loving the bass since July. Definitely an experience back and forth between 4- and 6-strings, but I am enjoying the challenges. Still awaiting a response from Mica on my serial number request, but would appear that this things largely lived in the case.
