Bookings are happening again and the calendar is starting to fill up for the next three months. Currently performing a three week theater gig on top of some nightclub gigs. I will be playing my Series I this Saturday. First time to play it out. Great sounding room too. I'm looking forward to hearing the bass with a band. Here is a shot in rehearsal.

It was hot but man...the Alembic was smoking!

Nice shot!

Thank you, David! I look forward to seeing your new 6 string when I makes it's way to you.
Oh, and look at that checking on the finish. Love it!

Very nice :)
-
I wonder if there is a way to reproduce that kind of finish if a customer wanted a new bass with a vintage look about it?

This bass is amazing! Finally, finally, finally "the" sound I've always wanted!!! Just a dream come true.

Love to hear that and the look on your face reads: Bass Bliss!
Congratulations!
-
Awesome, congrats, and nice bass! :)
-
Thank you both.
Looks like I picked up a theater gig for the next two weeks. The production is Memphis and I'll take some shots of my rig when I get set up. Apparently the bass player they hired bailed at dress rehearsal so I'll get the book tomorrow and start on Tuesday. Should be fun!
-
I played my Series I tonight but I'm going to need a 5 string for the gig. Just got the score yesterday and missed a few tunes with lower tuning. Sounded great even though the small rig.

Dan,
Have you ever had to deal with a show where the room was too "boomy"? What/ how did you deal with it?

Oh yeah. Before I learned about HPF I use to try and adjust the EQ on my amp. Parametric EQ works best.

First gig with the pbass.

Jazzy, Just saw your comment on July 6th. You can get that cracked finish by bringing your bass to Minnesota in January, leaving it out in the truck when it’s -30 degrees below zero and then bringing it inside to a nice warm room heated to 70 degrees and immediately opening the case.
-
Winter time here in the south. Had a lovely gig in a hotel lobby. Very nice audience and lots of dancers.

Beautiful bass! What kind of case is that, looks more manageable than the big G&G cases.

I like the trapezoidal cases. The 1982 Distillate I used to own came new in a trapezoidal case.

Coffin Case! I think the original "blue" case weights 25lbs!..lol I was using a gig bag for the bass but when I found out it would fit in this with the DS-5 I use it instead. Much lighter load.

Here is a pic from 2 days ago... love the sound but I miss b string insanely

Beautiful! I miss it too but I have a custom in production that will cure that void! If I absolutely need a B string I just bring my fretless. It's a monster. This was a classic rock/blues/country gig so the four string was perfect.
