OK, just a weird thing that wandered through my brain pan (never a rare thing, but happening more and more lately......)
I think that we can all agree that Butch Trucks was a superb name for someone who beat on skins with sticks, but it might not be the best ever. A friend of mine was in a band with Jack Power (I swear, these are real names), and I went to high school with a drummer named Mike Funk.
What do you think? Or do you have other nominations for Best Drummer Name Ever? (Actual players only.)
Peter (who needs to find a hobby. Or, better yet, spend more time playing his guitar)

A famous drummer with an appropriate name? Can't get any better than:
Ringo Starr.
'nuff said.
Bill, tgo

Well, Chad Wackerman has always been a favorite. And his dad and two of his brothers are also drummers.
Jimmy J

Oh man, I know some dillys in the bluegrass/oldtyme world.

In high school, Troy Flanz, if you squint your ears it kinda sounds like flam’s….

I wanna' say Club Member Chalie had a drummer nicknamed 'Ace'...

Gotta say, I appreciate drummers with Italian names - one so cool, it made it into at least one Zappa song: Vinnie Colaiuta
My personal favorite is Greg DeGuglielmo - he plays on a lot of my stuff, longtime Max Creek drummer, played with me in Jiggle the Handle too...

We used to have a great drummer in high school in 1972 named Chris Hoops. He also was our schools best high hurdler (did I spell that right?) and was dating the schools head cheerleader. Pretty good for a long hair at the time! Then the rest of his bandmates got into heroin (but not him) and got sent to jail. I then heard he moved to LA to continue playing pro, but we never heard of him again.
