I bought this Elan 5-string in 1990 at the Bass Center in Studio City, CA. I just wanted some of the build details.
It has been my main bass since I purchased it and I just recently got a set of Alembic CX3/ 45LB strings....never going back to any other strings!
P.S. At the time my uncle owned a music store near you, "The Magic Flute" (Terra Linda) but never gave me a hard time about not getting it at his store as he was not an Alembic dealer.
Thank you

Colin,
Welcome to the camp. Someone should be available soon to identify that very nice contrasting back/ body wood. It looks stunning compared to the front! Mica May take longer getting the build info to you so please be patience and as always… keep it low and stay outta treble!
Paul (who appreciates the backside of these instruments for their fundamental foundation role for all of the accoutrements that make them so magical)

Paul, I always appreciate a good pun, especially when referring to the bass-ic things :).[/b][/b][/i][/i]
