I was just rehearsing with Musical youth for an upcoming gig, saw a fire engine outside, next thing a fireman comes in telling us all to get out as the building was on fire on the ground floor. Fortunately we all got out safely and as my bass was round my neck and it came out with me. We are waiting outside now for the building to be declared safe to get the rest of the band’s instruments.

Wow, hope the damage wasn't too severe. Glad you and your bass are OK!
-
Hope everyone is okay, and that no one's instruments are lost.

What a shock it must have been! I'm glad you got out without injury and with your bass, and hope the rest of your and the band's equipment is okay.

Yeah it was quite a shock really. The rehearsal room is in one of the offices in the building and the fire was in the large storage/workshop area at the rear of the premises. I don't know the extent of the damage to the building. There was another band's touring van parked in the building with their gear and PA so at the moment i have no idea as to whether anything is affected by the smoke and heat. Fingers crossed nothing is damaged and if it is, then they have adequate insurance to cover it. The main thing is no-one was injured from the incident.

That indeed sounds like a close one! Glad you and your band made it out unscathed. Hope your equipment is undamaged, too.
