Taylor Hawkins, RIP.
-
Just read about that yesterday evening... that's pretty tough. He had a wife and young-uns too.
-
Apparently, just hours before they were to take the stage.
-
So very unfortunate, and to leave behind a wife and three children. Heartbreaking.
I was a huge fan of the reborn CAR AND DRIVER magazine back in the late 70's, 80's, when once again it was helmed by the late David E. Davis as Editor in Chief. Davis, who wore facial disfigurement from a crash in a Jag 120 in his gentlemen racer days, had stopped going to races as he was shell-shocked and horrified by the continuous death toll that racing up through the 70's entailed, an era before Sir Jackie Stewart planted his flag to begin to make safety a real priority and stop the endless carnage. DED just couldn't bear to watch any more.
Here we are once again with a beloved musician gone too early for whatever reasons. For what seem like the zillionth time. This just keeps happening.
I know EXACTLY how David E Davis felt. I see the pointless deaths of suffering people, so many for all these years, and it's just broken my heart too many times, both with the famous, and people I played with who were never famous. I just don't understand this.
God Rest Taylor, and God Help Us All.

RIP to a wonderful, enthusiastic musician.
