The time has come to let go of my most coveted bass. I'm playing 32" scale basses these days and after 25 years it's time to find her a new home.
I've got a for sale thread with details and photos over at TalkBass. https://www.talkbass.com/threads/alembic-orion-fretless-5-string.1555210/ (https://www.talkbass.com/threads/alembic-orion-fretless-5-string.1555210/)
Local-ish (SF Bay Area) sale only. I could be open to driving and meeting part way within a couple of hours drive of SF.
I'm not super interested in trades, but could be open to the right 32" scale, 5 string fretless.

Just got the bass back from getting the fingerboard plek'd and set up. It is super smooth and plays like an absolute dream.
Details with more pics are over on the Talk Bass forum linked above.

Beautiful bass at a killer price! If I was a bassist, I’d be all over this one. But I have to ask, why plek a fretless?
Bill, tgo

Thanks! Yeah, it is a beautiful and fantastic bass!
Pleking a fretless is unfamiliar to many people, but one does it for the same reasons one has a fretted instrument plek'd. On a fretless instead of sanding or planing the fingerboard by hand, they use the Plek to accomplish the same thing.
The reason I wanted the board planed / resurfaced / plek'd was to remove string marks from round wound strings. Nothing more than cosmetic reasons so the new owner would have a nice, fresh looking board.

I had a fretless Orion 5, they are fantastic basses…beautiful bass you have there :)

What a beautiful bass! Plek'ing is awesome... I have a shop here near Chicago where they removed frets, replaned the fingerboard with the Plek machine, then reinstalled and Plek'd the frets. That bass was incredible afterwards. It's really nice of you to have this done for the next owner! I wish I could get in on this.

Thank you!
Yeah, a plek'd instrument is a delight, whether fretted or fretless.
I love this bass and want it to be as delightful as possible for the next owner.
