This one is definitely different. It looks familiar, but I can’t place it (yet).

Whoever is selling these has some very interesting Alembics. Every one of them is unusual in some way, beyond the expected uniqueness.

I noticed that too. The guitar is gorgeous. I hadn't noticed it's a set neck until Bill mentioned it.

I got curious and sent the seller a question about this guitar the other day... and learned another kinda' unusual detail; it's a 25" scale. As custom as that guitar already is, not really that surprising.
I also wasn't aware there was another rosewood indigenous to Madagascar, but this is a separate Dalbergia subspecies... it's really something. I don't remember seeing another Alembic made of Bois De Rose.
Someone had a heluva collection.

They are selling a couple of basses too, including this nice single-pickup Distillate (made for Japanese market?):

And also this fretless 4-string:

The Distillate has the following statement - looks like this person worked at Alembic?
"Not the original neck, originally was a medium scale, however the owner (who was an Alembic employee at the time ) had it converted long scale."

The Distillate was Val's. I thought the fretless was too at first, but not the same one in the FTC thread. Someone really had some cool Alembics... not bought off-the-rack. So to speak. ::)

Ah... I assumed they were from the same collection - I've never seen an Alembic at Bananas at Large - until now - and three?!! (They are relatively local - San Rafael, kind of between San Francisco and the Mothership)
