Sam,
Nice set of basses!   In another thread people were discussing the tonal variations of different wood types.  Looks like you have a really good test station there.  Do you notice any major tonal differences between your two basses?

Paul (when I had 2 Alembics they were both zebrawood)

Hi Paul,
Thank you for ur text. They both are (were) really good basses. Unfortunately I had to let go of the 6 string. To be honest, I never tested side by side using exact same brand of strings as my Epic 6 always had Alembic strings on it and the 5 has D'addario. Apart from the tonal defferences in the strings, I haven't noticed any 'major' tonal difference Paul. There was a slight difference in brightness and I thought it was due to the strings. May be I was wrong. I'm not a 'pro', more a hobbist 😊. All in all I didn't notice a huge difference between them. Both had my Fav deep Alembic unique tone 😅😅
Sorry if I didn't answer ur question properly.

No worries.  I’m not a pro either.  I do however share your joy with the unique Alembic tone.  “Just” having a Distillate provides me with a wide variety of sounds - they really are super instruments.
