The price looks reasonable too.

My German's pretty rusty (full disclosure: After working there for six weeks in the late 1980s I still could only say "Please" "Thank you" and "I'll have another beer") so I can't tell: Does it mention what the scale length is?

oh, wait, never mind... that ding in the back of the neck is probably a dealbreaker. Too bad.

yeah in addition to the gouge in the back of the neck, looks like a cigarette burn on the neck as well plus looks like de-lamination on the headstock.  gonna go out on a limb and make a guess that this particular instrument hasn't been well cared for.  too bad, it's a nice bass.  decent price, but with that exterior damage, gotta wonder what kinda shape the rest of the instrument is in.

pass

Stan said it first… if this bass could talk.  Wonder what amazing things it experienced in over 40 years of keeping the groove alive

If I was interested in that body style those dings aren't significant enough to put me off. I would be more concerned about the cost to be incurred if the bass that age needed a noise cancelling upgrade.

It's funny but in my part of the world there just isn't noise to worry about.

On first view it appears to be an LSB. Could be wrong. The dark veneers on the peg are nice. The body looks in good shape.

The ding in the neck would irritate me, but it isn't that hard to fix. Love the Omega-cut...

Works out to be close to $5K USD. If that bass was near me, (and happened to be medium-scale) it'd be mine tomorrow. Especially given the prices we see lately.

Greg,

I'm with you about the ding on the neck.    It would bother me.    But I think that lovely aged honey finish on that bass outweighs that little ding on the neck.    It's gorgeous.   Hopefully it never gets refinished.

Too much bass for me though.   I like 'em little.

What ding? ;)

That’s a beauty!  :)
