Title: 1978 Series I On Reverb
Post by: YamatoJJ on January 21, 2022, 01:20:17 AM
Apologies if this was already put up: I like the looks, but thoughts?

Midlands, England shop: anyone nearby?

Rosewood board, no paperwork, but cable and box.

Absolutely love the figured walnut which looks so different than the walnut I have on two of my Alembics. Price would be high for U.S. but our friends in the U.K. will need to make the call as to the price there. As I recently found out, it makes total sense if you’re really interested to make a reasonable offer.

someone contacted me about this bass on Basschat after finding my posts there. Anyway he went to check it out and was put off by a nick halfway down the neck and the balance. As i noted on the thread in the link above, i am about 20 miles from there so is anyone is seriously interested i could check it out if the seller agrees. Personally i would not pay that for a bass that old maybe £4 to £5k max, maybe more for something unique like an 8 string.

jazzyvee: thank you: I would ask, but that kind of damage, I wonder….the owner was cordial enough; said I could call and ask anything I wanted about the bass. I take that to mean he is open to people checking it out. I’ll think seriously on it: thinking I am still way to new to these great basses to decide anything! Lol
