Title: [FOUND] WTB: Omega-Cut Series Guitar - # 77-962, or similar
Post by: flavofive on January 11, 2022, 12:08:03 PM
Hi all,
Just thought I'd go out on a limb here - there is a particular guitar that is the "ideal" of what I'm looking for: # 77-962, a 1977 Series 1 / Series 2 that was posted in 2009 - link (http://alembic.com/club/messages/411/71419.html?1260710196) (hope it's OK to reproduce a photo here):

The OP then listed it for sale in a separate thread about a month later - link (https://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=14598.msg151009#msg151009).  Naturally, I missed it at the time!  I assume it sold, but technically it's not totally clear.  (* I did try emailing the OP about a week ago, but no response - not surprising after 12 years.)

I've always hoped it would show up again, or a similar one.  But after monitoring classifieds for years, I finally thought it wouldn't hurt to just ask here.
This is a long shot, but if anyone on this forum ended up with it:  If you think you might possibly be interested in selling it, please feel free to contact me!

Alternatively, if there is a similar Series 1 or 2 guitar out there with the same omega body shape + crown headstock that anyone would consider selling, I'd be interested.  Ideally long-scale, 70s era, dark(er) body wood - but I have some flexibility.
I realize there aren't that many of these out there, but hey, never hurts to ask.

I promise this is the only "bump" I'll do!  Just thought I would put this out there one more time.  If no luck, no worries.
Thanks!

Just to update this:
If anyone does have an omega-cut guitar available at this time (see my original post above), of course please feel free to let me know!

But since this is indeed a bit difficult to find, I thought I would widen the net and open this up to long-scale (aka "LSG") point-style guitars as well.  These seem to come up quite a bit more often - relatively speaking!  I acknowledge there still aren't a ton of them out there, but maybe someone has one they would consider selling.

Examples that sold within the last year, for reference:

1977 Series 1 guitar:  Sold for ~$5.5k (fluctuates with exchange rate).  Excellent condition, included all original electronics and power supply.  https://reverb.com/item/52589783-alembic-alembic-series-one-77-i (https://reverb.com/item/52589783-alembic-alembic-series-one-77-i)

1977 Series 1 guitar:  Sold for ~$6.5k.  Very good condition, included all original electronics and power supply.   https://reverb.com/item/56561420-1977-alembic-lsg-1977-ohc (https://reverb.com/item/56561420-1977-alembic-lsg-1977-ohc)

Not a dealbreaker for me if a power supply isn't included; I have one.

Thanks!
