Title: Michael Lang of Woodstock fame has passed
Post by: David Houck on January 09, 2022, 07:09:59 AM
For me, Woodstock is an important part of our history; and without him, it would not have happened.  Thank you for that gift.

The man responsible for a major turning point event in our collective conscious.   With the fringe leather vest.   Think maybe I’ll watch “Taking Woodstock” again this week.   For those who are unfamiliar, it is a wonderful and humorous fictional account of how the festival came to be that is almost a semi-documentary.

May the Four Winds Blow You Safely Home.

I'll make a point of watching that movie Bill. I've always been fascinated by that era in our musical history despite being many thousands of miles away and only 8 or 9 at the time :)  Lang's book, 'The Road To Woodstock' is a great read (and not too heavy going as befits Michael's hippy credentials).
