Title: Bluetooth Adapter for boom box.
Post by: pauldo on December 30, 2021, 12:56:36 PM
Long story short, I have inherited my parents Bose Acoustic Wave II.  A fine piece of audio equipment.

Does anyone have experience/ recommendations/ pitfalls with Bluetooth adapters that could be used in the auxiliary input?

TIA

I'll be interested in the responses.  I have an old Henry Kloss Model 88 radio which was Kloss' company, Cambridge Soundworks' answer to the Bose unit.  Never thought of adding a bluetooth adapter.

I’ve used a little Belkin H81 with my Bose wave for years in just that way. Works like a charm. The Belkin was dirt cheap and it still sounds great. Connectivity is better from phone than computer though. I suspect there are any number of little Bluetooth receivers that will work including some hifi types that would be better but I’m not sure it would make much difference. The magic of the Bose unit is in the folded horn construction, not any hifi circuit magic I think.

Here’s a link to an article with recommendations:  https://www.lifewire.com/best-bluetooth-audio-receivers-4138227  I’ve used Audio Engine stuff before with good results.

Thanks Richard.  There are too many on-line reviews, so getting real world feedback from people I trust is great.
Appears Belkin doesn’t make that one anymore.

I have looked at the “Top Ten Lists” and I suppose that most of these are put together by the same hands….
