After playing bass since 2015 and being a huge fan of Pinback, Three Mile Pilot, Systems Officer and Zach Smith i finally caved in and bought this beautiful instrument.

Any history on it is appreciated.

Thanks, it plays beautifully as well....

I don't know if this is the correct forum to ask... but when i'm playing on the low frets (past 15th fret) the G string tends to slide off the neck... is there a fix for this, do i need to adjust the bridge?

Hey Prox!
Welcome to the camp.

You should move over to the Troubleshooting forum.  https://club.alembic.com/index.php?board=160.0 (https://club.alembic.com/index.php?board=160.0)
Post some close up pics of the bridge and nut.  The picture in the first link is hard to see.  There is an outside chance that someone disassembled the bridge and got the saddles mixed up.

A picture from the bridge up the neck would be helpful also as it will let us see if the string is abnormally close to the edge of the fretboard. Depending upon what the picture shows it might be cutting a new saddle to move the string in more or adapting your technique.

I was a pretty aggressive player before getting my Alembics as it was needed to be able to effectively bend strings and get a noticeable change in pitch on my Fender Jazz Bass. I also tended to pull down when I wanted a small change in pitch or to create a vibrato. When I switched the the Alembics due to my technique I would sometimes pull the G string off the side of the neck. Since you don't need to be overly aggressive to compensate for instrument shortcomings with Alembics I adjusted to a lighter playing style where the bass does the heavy lifting not my fingers.

^^^^ there is a lot of value in Keith’s second paragraph.   This is NOT you father’s bass.

Paul (who still is an ‘aggressive’ player but in a controlled way… ??? )

No worries guys... I just had to raise the bridge on side with the G string and fix the intonation, that seemed to give the string more finger board area to press on.

Also, if i don't get a reply here, is there a way i can personally search for the information on this bass based on the serial number i gave?

You will get a reply once there is time for Mica to search for the build card. She generally responds to a batch of similar requests when she has time to do so. If there had been a previous showcase thread or query about your bass posted here you would find it doing a search of the club forums.  Thankfully, lack of build card information does not keep you from playing and enjoying your bass. FWIW... the link you posted is no longer working. Maybe upload a few pictures here?
