Title: Which Starfire Bass to Alembicize?
Post by: Picure on November 10, 2021, 09:25:05 PM
I was watching Dan Horne's fantastic story about his Guild Starfire Bass and had me wondering, would it be worth while to take a modern reissue Starfire to get Alembicized or you have to get an real vintage one in order to have the best out of it?

My Alembicized reissue Starfire came out fantastic, couldn’t be happier with it.  :)

I also have a stock ‘67 Starfire.  When my Newark Street reissue had the bisonic in it I found little difference in tone between the two. So I wouldn’t think that you would have much of a difference in tone for an Alembicized vintage or reissue Starfire, as long as the woods and electronics are the same.
