Fleetwood Mac's Songbird is 78 today...
John used to say she was Perfect until she married him... true statement!
...and this is the sound I remember, child of the 80's that I am. ::)
Happy-Happy Christine! :D

I'm by far a Christine guy than a Stevie guy.

Me too.

I've always favored Christine's contributions to the band at large too, especially the songwriting, but it wasn't until I saw the Rumours-era band reunited and watched Stevie Nicks onstage the first time that I fully realized what she had brought to the table back in '74. She has this magnetism, a way that she connects with an audience, even when it isn't her time behind a mic. It's really not easy to describe, but even in 2015 she had an entire arena's undivided attention. Christine, having recently come out of retirement and rejoined the old band, stole the show that night for me, but there was no denying the chemistry that group still had. It's a shame Mick, John, and Chris can't seem to outrun the control freak and dish-throwin' psycho antics of their band-mates long enough to finish out a career.
[looking at my watch] Lemesee, 2021 is an odd year. It's about time for them to try another reunion... [holding my breath]
And for goodness sake Johnny Mac, play the Alembics this time! ::)

I think I know why Stevie got everyone's attention (at least everyone with a Y chromosome)........

Maybe some of them, with a raging case of teenagerey. I was actually serious. She has a fascinating stage presence that Christine does not. And Christine would be the first to tell that... she never wanted to be a front-woman. She joined the band largely to be with John. With Stevie, I swear it isn't just 40 years gone sex appeal and hokey stories. The woman has a gift of connecting with people. It isn't even my thing for entertainment value, but I get it. I wish I had it.
