Loved to see a glimpse of the Mothership facilities and how the band reacted to Mr. Clarke's new bass. This experience seems to be something each new Alembician live in his first gig/rehearsal with an Alembic in hands.
When I got my Rogue first time to our rehearsal the drummer asked me why I didn't play those lines before and I said that I always did, but now he was finally hearing me...

Excellent Bass Nation episode by Stanley Clarke. Good to see him dedicate a section to Alembic and get Mica to take part.
-
The first time I heard Mica's voice, before all those years I'm in the Club.

Great job Mica! We had our first conversation in the mid 80's when you took my order for a Spoiler 6 and all these years later you are presenting to the world! Continued success to you and all of the Wickersham family. And this year I will finally have upgraded to a Series 2 6. Only took me 38 years to get with the program! Congrats again on a great conversation with Stanley.

Loved it! Thanks for posting the video Goran.

Very cool! :)

OMG first time I see Mica on a video!
Please continue doing this interesting stuff!

Fantastic production. And Stan does the best job of explaining to a lay-person the correlation/difference of upright bass to bass guitar... just laying that foundation is so critical to understanding why these things have to work so well. Very natural in front of a camera too. That's hard. We don't think about that stuff as much.

Finally watched the Alembic segment - fun! Never heard the bit about the band chipping in to buy him that first Alembic.
-
A good investment and also a good move by Rick to bring that bass for him. I wonder if that was the first short scale bass that alembic made and if so was it made with him in mind?
-
It was not the first short scale bass and Stanley was not in mind - it was literally one of the basses we had finished in the shop! We took gear to all sorts of artists (still do!) to try out during soundchecks.

There was also a post in 2016 by Mondozer offering another version of when Stanley first laid his hands on an Alembic, in this FS thread for #72-03 (http://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=21958.0).
