I'm guessing that's Blackbyrd McKnight.
-
Michael Hampton there. He's a generous and wonderful person.
-
Ah! Thanks!

How about the other, custom Further? I've only seen one other Further with an Omega head-stock, former COTM Koco Lee.

This one, maybe? https://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=23130.0
Two beautiful guitars.

It is definitely Mickey from Ween holding his Further guitar in the shot with Michael Hampton. When Ween played Hardly Strictly Bluegrass I was hoping he would play his Further guitar but it didn't happen. Particularly nice example of a custom Further!

Had to find Maggot Brain with that guitar.

Very enjoyable - And from last weekend! It really brightens my day to see live music in the world again.

Awesome to see a post about Michael Hampton! Parliament-Funkadelic is my favorite band ever. Mike's guitar work with 70s P-Funk was great - he added some serious metal edge to the funk/rock genre, but was still great at the more typical funk-style chicken-scratch rhythms too.
Much as I do love Furthers, his omega Series 1 from ~1977 onwards is my absolute favorite Alembic guitar body style (and rare, unfortunately!). He did a lot of his coolest work on that guitar. In fact, that's how I found out about Alembic in the first place (their bassist "Skeet" Curtis played a Series 1 at the same time too).

Bonus points for spotting an ARP Avatar hexaphonic pickup near the bridge!
Couple things I always noticed about this guitar-
- No purpleheart neck stringers visible. Must have been some non-standard wood choices.
- There's some kind of triangular design on the headstock that resembles a Les Paul truss rod cover. I don't think Alembics have ever had the truss rod access there, so maybe just a decorative inlay? I don't think I've ever seen anything similar on another Alembic. Some photos that show it:

Mica, nice of you to share that about him - always really awesome when you find out that your heroes actually are cool people too!
And great to see he's still an Alembic fan. Wonder if he'll ever break out the Series 1 again?
