I really love my new (used) 99 Orion 4 string. But since playing it for a bit I found that I would prefer inlays and lighter side markers.
So, I contacted Alembic and have arranged for this to happen. I am super excited for this work, this will be a gigging bass.
Susan was excellent to deal with as was the person (sorry I forget whom I talked with) on the phone.
Now the wait, ha ha.
P.s. I will update with some pictures as things happen.

Congrats! Having Alembic make modifications or upgrades just seems to add a little something extra to an instrument.
I don't know the names of everyone that works there, but I'm guessing you dealt with Susan, and spoke with either Mica or Mary.

They are all wonderful , I am glad with my decision. I am going to be like a kid a Christmas.
I am already planning my custom build.

I had Alembic reshape the neck on my ‘76 Series I MSG from a “D” to a “C”. I live nearby, so I brought it up and watched the back if the neck being planed ... a rather unnerving experience! When I got it back they had done a perfect job of refinishing the neck to match the original body finish. You couldn’t have made a better choice than to send it back to Alembic for the mods.
Orions are sweet. I had an Orion Baritone guitar, very ergonomic. One of my favorite shapes.
