Title: Strays, rescues, and rebuilds
Post by: Bantar on May 29, 2021, 09:33:53 AM
Sorry if this might have been asked before, but would there be any support for a section in this forum for project instruments?  I'm starting my 92 Essence restoration project and would live to hear what others are doing, for inspiration, motivation, and moral support. It could also drive some people to go for factory fixes. There's sure to be some trying times ahead  :o...

SO cool. I'd love to see photos. I know Mica shows progress photos of orders being built, at least I've seen them here on the club. I don't know if it's a regular thing she does, or if it's at the request of the customer.

I still regret selling my '92 Essence. It was a "barn find" and wasn't functioning. I got it for about $200 on Craigslist over 10 years ago. I took it to Kent at Backstage (who used to work at the Mothership) and he fixed it in 5 minutes. Bad solder joint.

I'm an infrequent flyer here on the site, so I have no idea if I'm overstepping boundaries, etc.

Sounds like a cool project.  People have posted their restoration and other projects under the Miscellaneous thread at the bottom of the page.

I think it's a great idea. If the thread needs to be moved, one of the friendly Global Mods will take care of it. Can't wait to see what you do with that bass.

Perhaps you could put your project pictures and text in a thread in the Misc. section, and then before and after pictures in a Showcase thread.
