I have a Alembic Spoiler on route to me from USA so just want some info on it before it arrives!

I've had it a couple of weeks now and after working out issue with electronics I love this bass - the playability, balance, neck, and unique sound are faultless.  My only other active I've owned previously was a Ray which I really didn't like. But this is a keeper for sure.

Great looking bass. I've always liked the Spoiler. Would be fun to see a 40th Ann. reissue.  ;D

Here's what I found in the instrument file:

Top: Koa
body: Mahogany
neck: 3-piece Maple
scale: 32" medium
fingerboard: Ebony
ovals: pearloid (plastic) ovals
pickups: AXY4
controls: "Spoiler" volume, filter, Q-switch, 4-position rotary pickup selector switch, mono output
originally made for: Guitar Center Hollywood, CA
birthday: July 18, 1984

It was living in Texas in 2010 when the electronics were sent in for an RF upgrade.

Thank you.  Being a relative Alembic newbie what is an RF upgrade?

Being an electrical dunce but unable to shut my pie hole….

I am rather certain the RF upgrade is some magic they do that stops the pickups from receiving Radio Frequencies.

Yes, it's to protect against high frequency noise that had proliferated the environment since 1984. It also increases the gain from the original. No change in tone.
