I think Trip Whamsley has epic basses with three pickups too.
-
I feel like a 3 pickup Epic sold recently, but I can't find it now.

Double post

Moderator Dave has/had a 3 pickup Essences as I recall though I don't remember the electronics setup.
Here is the original thread from last year: https://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=25819.msg261075#msg261075 (https://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=25819.msg261075#msg261075)

One of the ways we've done three pickup Epics before is to keep the pan between the neck and bridge pickups and add a volume control for the middle pickup. Works well!

Moderator Dave's 3-pickup maple Essence is quite special, and Dave himself is well ahead of the curve. ;)
The controls are described in the Showcase Thread. https://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=8854.0.com

My Custom 10 string has a 3rd pu with a separate vol and tone. It makes a huge difference in sound. I recommend it to everyone. https://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=7201.0 (https://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=7201.0)

Ha - Funny coincidence! I remember looking at your thread in the FTC's looooong time ago, but I just noticed your order number written inside the pickup cavity, and my Custom fretless' serial number are the same. 14588. Mine, the order number, was 15139. Sorry, nothing to do with 3 pickups. Just me being me. ::) ;D Carry on.
