Title: Brass Cover Plate
Post by: Pete si on April 04, 2021, 07:57:36 AM
Anyone know how I can get a brass truss rod cover plate for my epic? And will it fit?

Except for a short special run in the late 90's I think the Epics all had plastic back plates. A good metal fabricator should be able to make one or maybe the wonderful folks at Alembic might still have one or could make one. As for the finish, you could either put a light sandpaper one way scuff on it or polish it to a high gloss and clear coat it.

In an older thread it is suggested that you would need to send your current plastic truss rod cover to Alembic so they could get it cut to fit.  But you should contact the shop and discuss it with them first of course.

Oh, my bad. I thought you were talking about the control cavity cover plate.

Dave's right - the truss rod cover is especially challenging to fit in brass on the set neck instruments. It's best if we have the instrument or the original plate in hand to get a good fit.
