Title: So many gone in the last year.... yet, a new arrival.
Post by: StefanieJones on February 27, 2021, 02:07:22 PM
Have been busy recently with our new grandson. Our daughter had her first (and our first) on Valentine's Day. Little Oliver. Only has wasn't so little. 10lb 6oz!  With all the darkness in the last year, he brightened up our small part of the world. I hope his light shines bright as he grows. hope and light...

Congratulations! In 13 years, he will become one of the "quaran-teens".

You find, I suspect, that grandkids are way better than kids; at least that has been my experience over the last 8 years (since the birth our first - named Oliver!); he now has a brother and 4 cousins, and they are the center of my universe.

Thanks!  I see what you did there ;)  and how true it is!

We're so happy to have one grandchild at least, after a series of mishaps..  I forgot how much I missed that baby smell, lol. Having the baby and mom living here with us brings back so many memories. Once again, the house is full and that brings me such joy.

Congratulations Stefanie.  :)

Yes indeed, it is easy sometimes to forget in the steady flow of of day-to-day negativity, but we are part of a continuum.

10 lbs, 6 ounces:  Sheesh, you can already buy him razors !

Congrats, and you will discover the wonderful thing about grandchildren is you only have to enjoy the good stuff, and somebody ELSE gets to change them !

Spring '19, we went to visit our son in CA (well, that's what we told him, it was his 19-mo-old son & 3-mo-old twin daughters.
The D.I.L. told us "You guys can watch the kids while we get away for the night!"
They were gone 22 hours, in which time I changed 20 diapers....... (and, I gotta say, loved every minute of it).

Now, when the little sweeties turn into screaming monsters, I'll decide randdude needs a nap & hand them off.

The couple down my street had twins a few months back. I saw them yesterday while out on my walk. It sure gives one hope for a brighter future!

It sure does give me such a calm feeling holding the little guy. I love when I talk to him and he's looking at me. With the way time flies, I want to make the most of every minute I can enjoying being with him.  He's healthy, mom is recovering and feeling better. Could this be.. happiness? ;)
