Thanks to Rob (RV_BASS) I finally have the '70's Series 1 MSB Omega cut. I'm so lucky that Rob shared this bass with me. I'll have it in a week or so. I'll also post pic of its stable-mate 77-624 MSB Point.

What a great catch.

That's a beauty!

Beautiful bass. I would love to have a Series I with an omega cut. I was actually hoping to have an Omega modification done with the standard point fretless I am going to send in for a refurbish but Mica indicated that this was not a good idea.

I'm surprised at how fast this happened with Rob. I've been looking at the occasional rare 70's Series Omega MSB that pops up every now and then, but they are never available. I almost bought this bass from the dealer just before Rob bought it. The same with 73-39. I was on the fence over a couple of days over each of them, and when I went back to get them they were gone. Even though it's a purchase I wouldn't normally have made, considering Covid and my work situation (no work), I'm excited and pleased at how a Series Omega found me, and one that I always admired at that! Hammer adding an Omega cut would be quite an undertaking.

Gorgeous!

Kismet :)
(I had a similar experince with another one of my basses) :)

Kismet, indeed. #78-1286 will be passed to another one who will truly appreciate her. Congratulations & Compliments, Keith. Funny the things you and I have in common with regard to fine basses... we seem to have chased after the same Dragons!

Probably after I had that done to my Series I. It was apparently no fun, although it turned out great.

Greg, I hope to acquire McVie's bass if he ever makes it available. A boy can dream -lol.
