Interesting. I just read earlier today that Gibson is buying Mesa/Boogie. They are allegedly going to let them keep doing what they're doing, but under new ownership.

Gibson buying another company is never a good sign...

The Mesa Boogie/Gibson deal has been announced on Mesa’s website.

I can hear it now:   “Hey, if we switch from tubes to transistors we can save $0.16 on each amp!”

I got e-mails about it from both Gibson & Epiphone - and am currently in mourning, for the very reason you state.

Oh, well - they were great amps while it lasted.
