Looking at a purchase. Seller claims a lot of work done back in 2005. Just want to confirm. Thanks so much! Love your instruments! This will be my 3rd.

Just wanted to clarify that the seller claims the work was done by Alembic back in 2005. Trying to confirm that is legitimate.

Mica does these serial number lookups in bunches, when time allows. If you're looking at a purchase and need information to make a decision, give them a call. If you call during normal business hours (PST) you'll catch someone. Let them know what you need and I'm sure they can help you out

Thanks! I may do that, but I'm not in a big hurry.

Hi Adam,
I have the build record for this bass:
top: Wengé
accent: Maple pinstripe
body: Mahogany
neck: 5-piece Maple
scale: 34" long
fingerboard: Ebony
originally made for: Musician's Friend
birthday: February 2, 1995
I don't have a record of work in the file, but that doesn't mean we didn't work on the bass later. There's a couple different computer systems since then. What kind of work was done?
-
Thanks. Well, the bass as shown in seller pics is a flame maple top 4 string. Seller claiming that in 2005 red LED side markers were added along with a 3rd pickup in the center position and the bass was refinished. Gold hardware was also replaced.

I'm assuming it's the one discussed in this thread?

You are correct.

There are some duplicate serial numbers, but this one is unknown as a duplicate. Can you ask the seller to double check the serial number? If the seller could contact me with the name of the previous owner I may be able to solve the mystery that way. My brain is pretty good, but I can't recall who we did this for in 2005 but it looks like something we did.

Thanks, Mica. I reached out to the seller, and he corrected the serial#: 95W8896
I was off by one digit at the end. The photo was difficult to see on my monitor.
Thanks for your help!
