Ken Hensley has passed. He was the keyboardist and principal songwriter for Uriah Heep. For me, his B-3 sound was the signature sound of the band.

This saddens me deeply. I have understood how the "classic rock" radio programming twits seemed to forget about the Heep.
(One panel Zits cartoon; Walt says to Jeremy, "I dunno; I remember thousands of songs. It's just classic rock radio that thinks there were only 12.")

:( Another one that hits home. I remember the days... sitting in my friend's truck, listening to Uriah Heep. And yes that organ sound always mesmerized me. :(

My intro was Abominog, and worked my way back from there over the years. The music didn't match the cover at all and at 14 didn't understand it.
Sometimes now "Running all Night with the Lion" will still pop in from the subconscious. They were great, and greatly unappreciated. RIP Ken and thanks position this sad news.

That should, of course, read "....have never understood...."
