Got it. needs some work. I am bring to guitar tech tomorrow. I think they may have tried bypassing the LPF, so there is a ground issue. Other than that, truss adjustment and she may be OK. I'll keep you posted.

Guitar Center does have a good return policy, BTW. I think it is something like you have 45 days after purchase.

Was the Essence returned? I see an ad for it or one that looks like it back up at Guitar Center.

The policy for "vintage" instruments is 2 days.
I bought the bass and set it up, but there was something funky with the LPF. There was a constant buzz and my guitar tech couldn't find the ground issue. He confirmed that someone(other than Alembic) was in there and resoldered. It was missing the ferrite bead. I bought one from my local electronics supply store, but no luck.

I didn't want to invest more money than I need to make the bass a reasonable purchase. Given the 2 day return gave me less time to diagnose, that is what I did. Returned.
