Title: Featured Customs
Post by: Rami Sourour (rami) on March 08, 2003, 11:35:00 AM
I just wanted to say that this month's featured custom has got to be one of the prettiest works of Alembic art that I have seen in a while.  While all Alembic Basses are stunning (and the Featured Customs even more so), this one is spectacular.

Great Job!!!

Congratulations Yahya!

I must admit that the inlaid fret lines only on the side of the neck is an ingenious solution !

I'm not fearless enough for a 'bald' fretless, but with this feature, I could try it. Bravo !

Hi Joey,

I was originally referring to this month's feature.  They used mandolin frets.  They're very thin and can almost sound like fretless with the right touch.

I think this might be what you were referring to:

This is the only featured custom that I've seen with fretlines on the side of the fingerboard.
