Title: Nice looking Spoiler on SF Bay Area Craigslist
Post by: El Thumpo on September 26, 2020, 05:51:34 PM
Looks like a nice birdseye maple Spoiler that's made it down from the 80s in good shape. Asking price is $2,100.

I'm posting this as a means of keeping me from buying it myself!

As we have been paying down credit cards, I actually have enough room at the moment to pop for this; the conehead is what's saving me (that and the severe beating Senior Management would most assuredly administer).

I have, on occasion, messed with it (originally wanted to be a bass player, but turns out it's easier to play with yourself if you're a guitarist......).  But I think every guitarist should have a bass - and, in case you didn't notice, I do have one.  But there are 2 problems there - one, my son left it here when he moved to AK, and wants to back at some point, and two, it's a Yamaha.  Nothing wrong with that, but to my ear, bass = Alembic, of course.  So I'd love to pick one up. Alembic.  First Alembic I ever played was a Spoiler, and I loved everything about - except the cone, which is Just Wrong.
But my finances, alas, will not permit such an acquisition in the foreseeable future.  But thanks for the offer.
