Here's how to sell a bass IMHO, make a tempting opening bid and let the market decide the value. It'll be interesting to see what this one winds up selling for:

Nice bass, BTW. if i hadn't already ..... yadda yadda yadda

Nice Looking bass. I wonder what is causing that checking on the back. All of my alembics bar one is older than that one and none have any checking, and that includes a well used 89 Elan 4.

upon closer inspection, looks like some non-oringinal switch-work on the front. I'd definitely want a look inside the control cavity.
12 lbs. doesn't sound like a lot but that's about what my last bass weighed and that's one of the factors that led to its demise. my series II checked in at 13 and some change, so i had to wear a back brace when I'd take it to a gig.
at that price, some issues could be overlooked and dealt with later on by someone skilled in the art.
someone's already bid on it, could be fun to watch and see what happens. that is, if you're into that sort of thing 🤡

2 BIDS: US $4,757.00
2 things to take away from this:
somebody got a smokin' deal (providing the bass is actually in decent condition)
the seller probably isn't a real happy camper, i would guess
yikes!
