Title: Short Scale Alembic query
Post by: Dan Telvock (pinkfloyddan) on March 24, 2003, 06:39:43 PM
Does Alembic make only one short scale bass?
I just bought a 1998 Alembic Epic and am having great difficulties playing it, with my small hands. I might trade this in for  short scale, if possible.

Dan,

Alembic makes 2 models of the Stanley Clarke Signature bass: the Standard & the Deluxe. Those  are the only 'stock' Alembics that have  a short scale neck.  You can also order an Alembic through any of the dealers with the scale length you prefer: standard long scale, medium, short or extra long .

Almost any model, including the Epic can be ordered with a medium or short scale length.

I probably should sell this one I have then. Sigh.
What would a short sale basic two pick up Epic cost?
I could probably get 1,000 for my bass

Until April 15, the Epic is $2250, no charge for the short scale neck (we already have the fixture).
