Need to add a topic in the 'club': metal strings can be kinky!

LOL!

This is likely more specific to fretless Alembic owner/players . . .

But when they own a "kink", strings that is - they might very well drive you nuts: Bass Neck Nutz!

No pun intended - or - well a tiny kinky pun might be intended!

I took my Further to Cremer guitar works in North Aurora IL (They have the...12 knob bass?) because of fret buzz in 2007 it was really bumming me out!

Took one minute of examination to show me a kink right at the 11th fret on the b string.  Boy was I embarrassed and got the heck out of there.

You start with an opening square bracket [
then add url=
followed by the exact web address
and a closing square bracket ]
after which you put the link text
followed by another [
and /url
closed with a final ]

Putting on strings is more complicated than it might think. Kinks are problems, but so are strings that get twisted while being installed. That's one of the reasons I love the Alembic style bridge and tailpiece. The ball end can move freely so it can rotate as the strings tighten up.

Matching the Alembic bridge and tailpiece with locking tuners makes changing strings a breeze.   I usually restring my Further in less than five minutes.  Try doing that with a Floyd Rose!   Lol
