I got my first Alembic yesterday (an 84 Spoiler Exploiter) and couldn't be happier. I expect it to be a very nice compliment to the Les Paul my brother plays in our band (Al...I'd like you to meet Les. Now you two boys play nicely together!). But I do have a couple of questions regarding the pick-up selector switch.
There are four positions, and the top position (switch pointed up towards pick-ups) seems to be off. I get no sound. The other positions seem fine...wondeful as a matter of fact. Is this normal? With two pick-ups, there can only be a few variations, but I'm just concerned with the no sound thing.
Please forgive the dumb question on my part. In tooling around a little bit in the club, it seems like you're all a great bunch, and very supportive of each other, and your Alembics, so please go easy on the newbie.
Thanks in advance

You're right on it...the top position is indeed off. Then in succession, neck only, both and bridge only. Enjoy the the new toy!

Thanks Paul. There was a slight moment of panic when I got no sound. I can now rest (and play) assured!

no sound is also known by the more reassuring name of STANDBY :-)

Yes...STANDBY is much more preferable than no sound or off.
