Impressive, but I bleeve dat cat couda' built a geetar outta' just about any thang he durn tootin' felt like. Jus' so happened maw had a nice mahogany shelf she weren't usin'... ;D
Seriously, that's some skill on display there. Like that TV show "How It's Made" for a guitar. I really, really need to get me a spindle sander for my shop. I need a new belt sander too, but that spindle sander is cool as dad-gummit!
Thanks for posting, Coz!
(Bro. Elwood, check this one out, iffn' you ain't already...) ;)

That sappelle(?) looks rich and chocolatey...is that what lockdown does to us?
...we start looking around for things to make guitars and basses from? :D

Hehe..I done did already.
I want a spindle sander too...never had one.
Holding the drill with a sanding drum gets achy after a bit.

You been working on the cool projects! I've been working on a moldy old guitar case, that should've gone into the first dumpster I passed. ;D And that's when I've had any shop time to spare. :P
(I've seen the preliminary pictures... wait til' y'all see Elwood's latest creation)

That sappelle(?)
I seem to recall that there is a brief crawl that does, indeed, specify sapele.

Say what? Pictures, or it didn't happen!

There is great honor in saving items from our expanding waste stream... you keep doing you!
I thank you and the planet thanks you.

You might remember this sad case from my Scroll Shop Thread, Paul... I've had this thing for waaaaay tooooo looooong. It's the original hardshell case for a 1937 Epiphone Broadway guitar, at Fret Mill Music (obviously, they've been in shutdown mode because of the virus) but being what it was provided the only motivation for even trying to fix it. And I did fix it, to the extent that it will hold the guitar, and it has enough hardware to function as a case again. It's a very cool guitar. https://fretmill.com/product/epiphone-broadway-1937/ My only affiliation is I do offhand repairs for the store. If they survive.
Anyway, before and after... such as it is. :-\
Elwood's project is way cooler than mine. ;)

I wish you could fix the case for the old Gibson acoustic I have, lol. It needs the thread restitched and I can't find anyone here to do it.
Should add, that semi hollow body looks great!!

As I gather more pics...how about some sourdough porn (You know, because of the lockdown ;) )

And I should point out - my parenthetical note above must be read with a Taylor-Street-Chicago accent - and a smile upon the lips.......
Peter (who most certainly has a smile on his lips on the few occasions he refers to Her as such in Her hearing ;D )

Love the sourdough! ;D nothing like homemade bread.

Got some pics in the sun today,
I'm still doing the last carvings, some areas might look raw.
All in all...pretty happy. I'll wire it up tonight and I'm sure I'll determine I need a preamp for
the Alembic pickup. I'll keep the dremel out...that means a battery cavity
Here's pics and a link to an album showing (http://https://www.slickpic.com/users/GeodeGuitars/albums/Les-Pool/?wallpaper&viewer) the um...'process' ::)
