I've had my 1977 Series 1 Med Scale back from Alembic for almost a week now.
I loved the bass before the upgrade, but it had it's share of directional buzzes and random noises. It is a 77, after all.
NOW it is is as quiet as any of my other 11 basses ; the tone is rich, deep & full & it has become my #1 4 string player.
I can't recommend the upgrade highly enough; I never thought it would turn out this well :-)
Gotta thank Mica, Susan, Mary & Terry for the always friendly & familial phone conversations & of course, kudos to Ron, who although unseen & unheard, improved upon his original masterpiece.
Very Special People.
Merci!

That's great news! I have a bass I would love to send back. It is my main instrument right now, but I can't even use it in some situations because of the noise. I break out my Alembic with hum cancelling pickups for those gigs. I will get around to it some day. I wonder if they can do the same conversion on instruments with PF5 electronics?
