Rickenbacker 4003S-JPS Jetglo Pearlstar - ALEMBIC!

Let me be perfectly clear and honest - I do not want to sell this bass.  But I have a couple basses too many and am trying to raise funds for a Series bass.  So a couple have to go....

This is a one-of-a-kind bass.  It is a Rickenbacker 4003S-JPS, the Jetglo Pearlstar.  It features a back matte with subtle glitter body, a glittery gold pick guard and matching truss-rod cover, and a maple fingerboard.  Those are the features that set the Pearlstar apart from a regular 4003S Jetglo.  If you are familiar with the bass, then you likely know that they sell for about $3,000 or more.

But this bass is special.

First, I had Alembic custom make a set of Activator pickups to Rickenbacker size specs.  They are powered by active Alembic electronics.  The controls are volume, pan, and filter, with a 3-position Q-switch (an Alembic innovation, and exclusive to Alembic).  I’ve used the hat knobs that come stock on Alembic basses.  This upgrade cost me approximately $1250.

The bridge pickup bezel has been painted black.  The “empty space” between the bridge pickup and bezel has been filled with a modified “treble bezel.”  The stock chrome bridge was upgraded with a black Hipshot brass bridge.  These upgrades cost me around $250.

The stock chrome tuners were replaced with black Hipshot tuners.  This upgrade cost me approximately $120.

The stock strap pins were replaced with  black Schaller-S strap locks.

I had Moody (the best guitar/bass straps known to man!) custom make a black 2” leather strap with gold stitching.  Because it suits this bass so well, I am including it in the package, but you could use it on another instrument if you prefer a different bass strap.  The strap cost me approximately $200.

The bass is near mint, no discernible stratches, scuffs, or other imperfections.

Of course, the original Rickenbacker molded case is included as well.

This is a nearly $5,000 package.  I know, realistically, that is an unobtainable price for this bass.  I am asking $4k and am negotiable.

Will ship or in-person sale on Long Island available.

As far as trades are concerned, I would entertain offers for a modern day Series bass, prefer 5- or 6-string plus cash from me.  Thanks.
