A bunch of Phil’s stuff is included in this on-line auction.  Some cool pieces!

Looks like the Modulus bass is gone already, I don't remember ever seeing him play the one that was up for auction. A few cool things along with some junk, stale cigarettes anyone?

I like the Little Blue Meanie animation cell and the  Beyoncé double bass ($350 right now I think, not bad for a double bass)

Weird! The auction isn't until the middle of June, wonder what happened? He decided he didn't want to sell it anymore? I looked at the listing a few days ago, someone sent it to me. Then it was gone!

Not sure what happened but I am watching this week’s Shakedown Stream and it looks like Phil is playing the maple Modulus that was up for auction. So far I am not impressed with the sound of the bass but the playing by everyone is really good. 7/16/90, a week before Brent’s last show and ten days before he passed...

What an interesting auction.

The 7 packs of Pall Malls made me tilt my head.
I quit (again) 5 months ago, the struggle is real!

Then I saw his Leslie! 😎

It is the bass, huh? Agreed on the sound - it's pretty boinky if that makes sense. You're right about the playing too! (of course, when I typed that Jerry messed up the ending to Weather Report Suite! Oops...)

Hey, the Ken Smith is still there (https://www.julienslive.com/m/lot-details/index/catalog/320/lot/137975?url=%2Fm%2Fview-auctions%2Fcatalog%2Fid%2F320%3Fpage%3D3) - it's only at $42,000 so far...

Check out Lot #164 on page four.   An Entwistle signed Exploiter made into a "Spider bass".

I saw that but didn't look closely enough - weird! Kind of cute but... Hey, it's already up to $4500!

Exploiter bass (https://www.julienslive.com/m/lot-details/index/catalog/320/lot/138020?url=%2Fm%2Fview-auctions%2Fcatalog%2Fid%2F320%3Fpage%3D4)

I think the suggestion is that JE himself did all the graphics on that Exploiter.

Even for 10 years ago that $437.50 seems low.  My new Orion 4 cost me £1000 in 2000. Do you think the pink Stanley Clarke signature put people off - as much as I admire him, it would put me off - I think it defaces a beautiful instrument.

I'm guessing the decimal is in the wrong place...

Yes - that would make sense as estimate was 2000 - 4000 dollars.  Still.....PINK signature!

I agree though it wouldn't put me off buying it i would just have the signature removed. I have Stanley's signature on some of my basses but I took the control cavity plate and asked him to sign the inside so nothing shows to break the elegance fo the outer part of the bass.
