Nice .
It still has the old chassis and has an LED pilot light , with indication on back ; built in Santa Rosa.
The Oldest ones that I have seen were units that I remember seeing at the 60 Brady Street Alembic shop .
Those had the old chassis however had an incandescent bulb with a glass jewel threaded bezel like found on an old Fender Amp , as a pilot light . There is indication on the back of those units : made is San Francisco .

Looks to be in great shape. I have #834, made in Sebastopol, most of the numbers have worn off from use and plenty of rack rash on top. It was my second F-2B. I got the first around 1981, stupidly sold it a couple of years later and instantly regretted the decision. I had a chance to buy another in the mid-80s not long after I sold the first and decided I was never going to repeat the mistake of selling the first one.

Asking forgiveness for being a little bit off-topic, but when were the first F-1X units issued? I recently bought the one Club Member [dela217] had up in the Swap Shop. It is a red knob model, with the printed logo and model name on the front. Has the information printed on the back stating the unit came from Santa Rosa, CA. but the serial number slot on the rear panel is blank. I don't really care deeply, just curious.
It is in beautiful condition, and I love that the power switch is on the front! I'm going to rack it up with a nice little power amp, and put a spare DS-5, and some cables in a foam-lined rack drawer. Gig ready, and DI on-board already. 8)

There’s one on Reverb that shows made in San Francisco...must be an old one per Wolf’s comments.

The one I use for my guitar is an older one that says Sobastopal and #816, the one I use for my bass is a newer one :)

I have a San Francisco one with the LED. I forget the serial number. It gets used constantly.
-
At some point with the San Francisco produced units from what I recall , was a transition to the LED from the incandescent bulb. I believe we had that discussion once a while back as well . Perhaps that information is in a past thread .

Sold tonight for 1430.00 on ebay.

Wow ! Does that set a NEW precedent price ; and /or reference for used sales of a unit of similar or identical vintage ? 8)

That's what I thought, too. Units that nice are rare. I wonder about the filter caps, but it could still be solid sounding. I bought a very used original F2B and changed the caps just for maintenance, and it changed the sound to the negative; to my ears.

WOW! I just checked the current new prices. WOW! I just gave a new club member a heck of a deal on an SF-2!
