Hi all,
I’m new here. Since a couple of months I’m the proud owner of a Spoiler, build in 1988 (according to the s/n.?).
I’m from The Netherlands and I think it also was originally sold in the Netherlands (there’s a sticker from the shop, BassConnection, on the back of the headstock).
The body is Walnut burl, I was told by the previous owner. He also added a ‘kill-switch’ to the body, to prevent the battery from running dead, I suppose. I think the rest of the bass is still original.
Last week a local luthier has done a very fine job of the fixing the sharp edges and polishing of the frets.
I’ll try to attach some pictures.
It plays very well, I do own a couple of very good other basses, but keep grabbing the Spoiler....😄
Can you provide me with the details of this Spoiler?
Regards, Jouke

That’s an exceptional top you have on you Spoiler. Most of the ones I’ve seen are fairly plain, but yours is absolutely incredible.

Welcome to the world of alembic. We have a long time member here from the Netherlands who is also lover of spoiler basses. He plays with Damaged Justice, a metallica tribute band. Im sure you will hear from him once he senses a spoiler. 😂👍🏾😁
