This is my 3rd. Alembic. I had a series I back in the 70's, and a 2 pickup Excel in about '04. Sadly, rent and other commitments.
Just bought this one today. '03 Orion in feathered redwood. This one is in factory condition, with case candy and tools. It is truly everything I expect from Alembic- There are no flaws.
44 years after my first one I maintain that Alembic builds the best bass in the world.
Need I mention- Phil Lesh got me to play bass with Europe '72. Blew my mind, and still blown.
Status- Pro blues musician since '74 ish near Toronto, Canada. Gear- 20 something high end basses. Club rig is a GK MB500 with one Bergantino REF12, Concert rig same head + 2 GK Neo 112 cabs, Festival rig is Ampeg SVT CL, and GK Neo 410.

Hi Paula; congrats on the Orion, and welcome to the board!
-
That top on your bass is absolutely gorgeous. Congratulations on your acquisition.
-
Welcome to the club, Paula. Beautiful bass. I’ve never heard of “Feathered Redwood” before, but it sure describes the top! Play it in good health and stay safe,
Bill, the guitar one

Beautiful bass, Orion’s are great basses, very comfortable to play, lighter in weight, and sound great!
-
Congratulations & Compliments (again!) and Welcome to the Alembic Club. :)
-
Paula, welcome to the camp. Feel free to post links to how that beautiful bass sounds!
-
Agree about the Orions. Like the simplicity. I have a 2000 Orion 4 which I bought new. I also use Bergantino cabs.
