Title: Question for Mica
Post by: Mark Oskin (sonicthunder) on April 08, 2003, 05:36:49 PM
Hi,
This is Mark Oskin, I ordered a filter with knob and Q switch last week, and requested tracking information via email, markoskin317@hotmail.com (http://mailto:markoskin317@hotmail.com). I am going to install it on 95 W 9210 which is a set neck that makes the top wood more important, tone wise. I'm not sure, but I think it is wenge. It doesnt look like the wenge on my Warwick, alot more porous, but please confirm the top wood on that piece. My other Alembic is
92 K 7430 it seems to be a stock Essence with flame maple top. I can't hardly wait for the parts for the Epic so please findout what's going on with that order for me!
Thank you!

Hi Mark,

95W9210 is recorded as a Vermilion top, which is generally open-grained with the standard Epic finish. It should look significantly different from the dark color of Wenge. Vermilion is a red-orange color when new, then ages to more of a brick red color over time.

92K7430 is a standard Flame Maple topped Essence. At the time yours was made, it was only available in Flame Maple with a Maple body.

I believe Mary already got in touch with you about the order. She was also able to find a larger washer for you to convert the mounting for the new Q switch.
