Well, that sucks.

John Prine has tested positive and is in critical condition.

Joe had been a supervisor on the line at Gibson, and had left before I started there in '91.  He became a highly sought-after demo singer by the many songwriters and producers around town back then, and was able to develop those networking connections into a record deal.  Was one of those guys that remained more or less normal through it all.  In his post 'big label deal' days after Garth and Shania demolished everything, a nephew played keys in his road band and was very complimentary about him.  Gonna be missed, there's always a nice guy shortage !
