As a 5-string Stanley Clarke owner myself, I always take an interest in these. Check out the (upside down) pic of the headstock - looks like they used a short scale set of strings that didn't fit - you can see the low B string is tapered and the full width isn't going through the nut, it's at the 1st fret! (I use long scale LaBellas on my Stanley and they fit fine)
