Title: (x) 1982 Spoiler S/N 82s2257
Post by: JeredGaspard on December 21, 2019, 02:29:12 PM
Hi everyone.  Looking for any info I can get on this bass.  I've attached some pictures as well.  My uncle Mike passed away in October, and his wife asked me if I could dig up some info on it.  I play, I've played for over 20 years, but I've never played one of these, so I don't have a great idea of what it's all about or what it might be worth.  We'll be listing it for sale somewhere once we have a better idea what we're working with.

Thanks for any info.

You're showing pictures  that appear to be of two different Spoilers. The one in the first picture has two extra switches that suggest the electronics are not as they left the factory. The one in the other two appears to be an early Spoiler with decals on the headstock, which should have solid koa body wings.

The file for this serial number is devoid of all information. At this time, when we filled out the wood card, we used a piece of carbon paper under it and transferred the information directly to the file folder, so we know it didn't fall out. But it was never recorded.

However, besides the exact birthday, all Spoilers at this time has the same specifications.
body: Solid Koa
neck: 3-piece Maple
scale: 32"
fingerboard: Ebony
inlays: Pearloid (plastic) ovals
pickups: Alembic AXY
controls: "Spoiler" volume, filter, Q-switch, pickup selector switch, mono output
