Europa 5 Bass Walnut 1991
I traded for this bass just recently and liked it so much, I decided to upgrade and purchased a nearly identical walnut Europa 5, with a couple of added bells and whistles.
The bass is in good used condition and perfect playing order. There are some nicks and dings on the body, mainly on the butt and side as pictured. Purely cosmetic. Overall, in very good shape for its age.
Wonderful bass with rich sound and very expressive controls. The Europa controls are volume, pan, filter, Q switch, bass boost/cut switch, treble boost/cut switch. The quick tone switches are bass and treble and are not individual switches for the pickups. Each switch provides 6db boost, flat, and 6db cut.
Walnut top
Mahogany core
maple and purpleheart veneers
7 piece maple and purpleheart neck.
34" scale.
Brass hardware
Brand new Gold Alembic tuners. ($120 value)
Comes with hard case as pictured.
Bass will be packed professionally and shipped fully insured for the amount you pay
Asking $3250 plus shipping, CONUS only. I’m selling this to fund the purchase of the new Europa, so I’d like to say I’m not open to trades, but you all know how that goes…

Enjoy that bass, you can’t go wrong with a Europa.

I've been really impressed with the tone I can get with the PU pan instead of the selector and the boost/cut switches. Might be sacrilegious but it might be even better at shaping the sound than with my series II. Just a novice's opinion. Certainly, I am enjoying playing.
